The recent earthquake in Japan was accompanied by some shocking footage of the devastation and power capable from natural forces. There have been a number of responses to help raise funds for the Red Cross and other charities helping with the recovery effort. I started to see some very interesting design work that used the imagery of the Japanese flag to a beautiful manner to express the devastation. It certainly made me a reverence and subtlety that is needed when addressing such a painful event.
